About Me

Myself and two of my friends (Brett and Zach) are travelling down the East Coast of the US, going to a friend's wedding in Tampa, FL. I'm from Northeast Connecticut, where I've worked in kitchens, at a radio station, as a substitute teacher, and now as a barista. I studied in London for 4 years, and in that time I travelled all around Europe and definitely got a taste of travelling that I want to continue to feed.

I'm looking for people who would be willing to let us crash on their couch (or floor, we're not very picky) on our way down. We're excited to meet new people on our way down!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, and to get a taste of different cities that we haven't been to before. I've been all around Europe, and I want to see parts of my own country I haven't before.

Interests

Jake:

International politics, social justice, craft beer, specialty coffee. Hockey and soccer.

I started a non profit when I was in high school, that's still going now. I've travelled to Prague and walked across the entire city with no map (while hungover)

Brett:

Owned and operated a skateshop which, after a year went out of business. That momentum has since turned into a town committee which gets kids involved with local government, fundraising, donating, and building leadership skills.

Teach, Learn, Share

Jake:

Teach - I can teach you about specialty coffee!

Learn - anything and everything about people. I love learning new things about different people and the neighborhoods where they live.

Share - I can cook a mean stir fry.

Brett: I guess these all have to do with who I'm with!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Jake: I can share my love of new experiences and music, and stories from travels. I want to meet new people and learn a lot!
