About Me

I am 25 years old and originally from germany. Last year I finished my studies of International Communication and started travelling while working remotely for a startup that creates insurance for remote workers like myself (they are called SafetyWing, maybe you heard from them :D).

I love the possibilities to meet interesting people, engaging with different cultures and communities and visit beautiful places, that travelling allows. Travelling the world has been the biggest teacher of my life.

I aspire to rise early, although that is not always successful. I would rather sit around a campfire on the beach than go out partying all night (although that can be fun too when the music is right). I love playing cards and finding new games to play. My dream is to become a successful musician and share my creative output with hundreds of people around the world.

Since I started travelling, I also developed a passion for various outdoor sports, especially surfing, hiking and climbing.

I would love to meet you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because I think it is a great way to meet other people (especially locals) when you are travelling. I hope to find some people with whom I can explore the "hidden treasures", which you can't find in every tourism guide. Furthermore it is just a great platform to connect and even organise activities with other travellers.
On the other hand couchsurfing also gives me the possibility to help out travellers, who might come to my area and show them around, which is - in my opinion - just as fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoyed the alchimist by Paolo Coelho., as well as The Swarm by Frank Schätzing. Right now I am reading Sapiens, which most be already one of the best books I have ever read.

I really basically enjoy all movies by Tarantino, Scorsese and Christopher Nolan.

In general my favourite Movies and TV Shows are: Better Call Saul, Dark, 3%, BoJack Horseman, Casa de la Papel (yes I have Netflix), Gran Torino, Into the Wild, Boyhood, LOTR, American Beauty, Oceans 11,12,13, Pocanhontas, Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars (not necessarily all good movies but its just my childhood).

I enjoy all different kinds of music but I would say that my favourite artists are Tame Impala, Deadmau5, Billy Talent, Die Ärzte, Gorillaz, Hiatus kaiyote, Snarky Puppy, Justice, Mighty Oaks, Milky Chance, Seeed, Patrick Watson and RHCP.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have travelled for nine months through New Zealand, after I finished school, where had many amazing experiences, like hiking through and experiencing beautiful nature, swimming in glowing waves under the stars and jumping out of a plane, while being surrounded by a stunning mountain range, 12,000ft above the ground. In this year I met many amazing people - among them also a Dutch girl with whom I am together now since roughly one year and four months.
I also ran half a marathon once.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy learning new languages and about new cultures and their habbits in general, as well as being very interested in music. Apart from that I play piano since over ten years and recently got into playing guitar (and ukulele while I was travelling). Would be awesome to jam together and learn from each other. Since about 5-6 years (with some breaks) I also got into producing electronic music and recently started getting into Ableton (producing program). Since German is my native language I could also help people learning German if needed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

In the last two years I actually think that I became a decent cook (at least for me, my girlfriend and my roomate) and I would love to cook for you if you decide to share your couch with me:). As mentioned before I am also very interested in music and would be very excited to exchange knowledge. And of course (like probably nearly everyone here) I have some stories and experiences to share about travelling and living in Germany, New Zealand and The Netherlands.
