Overview
About Me
I'm not hosting currently, as I'm away from Edinburgh for the summer. I will resume hosting when I return in September.
I am currently doing my undergrad degree in history at University of Edinburgh. Before that I had a year of travelling and sailing on a tall ship. Through that I had a lot of great experiences, met loads of nice people and learned a bit about life and myself.
I like talking to people, which sometimes means I don't get to sleep. But that's okay.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I quite like getting to meet totally new people with whom I've got no friends in common.
Also, Edinburgh is a cool city, so I like introducing people to it.
Interests
I like history because it's such a general discipline, meaning I can study pretty much whatever I want.
I like swimming, especially in the sea. I'm quite happy to be living close to a pool now, so I can swim in the winter as well. Lately, I've started climbing a bit and quite enjoy it.
I used to play the piano and flute, but living in student accommodation isn't great for playing instruments.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin, it's a perfect mix of jazz and classical.
My favourite book tends to change a lot, I read "Tender is the Night" by Fitzgerald recently and found it very interesting. Right now I'm reading Crime and Punishment by Dostojevski and enjoying it so far.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I sailed from Europe to the Caribbean and back on a tall ship. Living 100 people on a relatively small ship and not seeing land for three weeks was a very interesting experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a pretty cheerful guy. On the more practical side, I'm good at making omelets and coffee. Currently, I'm trying out curry recipes from a cook book I just got, so I'll probably be making one of those too.
