About Me

*I no longer can use this site.

CURRENT MISSION

To genuinely listen, learn, laugh, surf, and host!

GOALS

1. I'm stoked to start my doctoral training in industrial-organizational psychology this fall (2018).

2. To find a wife that will trust that CouchSurfing is safe lol

3. To master video-editing

ABOUT ME

I'm a 31 year old psychology grad student at SFA working on my Masters and I live super close to campus. I love meeting new people, and especially those different from me. I'm a good listener and enjoy hearing other people's life stories, philosophies and perspectives. I'm super easygoing and I believe people with wildly different views can be great friends and companions. I love fun, light conversations, as well as deep and/or philosophical conversations.

I'm not as much of a partier. I really enjoy smaller-group settings. I do love adventure (kayaking, hiking, traveling to new places or challenges in general), though. And I love trying new foods!

I enjoy time with people, adventures, traveling, the outdoors, reading, working out, and writing. Kayaking and hiking are huge favorites!

PHILOSOPHY

Love others the way you'd like to be loved.

Think in terms of probabilities rather than binaries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Ultimately, I want to make friends. If I wanted to just see an area for cheap, I'd use a free campsite (they exist). But I joined CS because I want to actually have several days with someone (or several people) where I can enjoy them, learn from them, and hopefully bring some joy to their life as well.

Another thing, is I obviously want to see an area through the eyes of a local person! It's one thing for me to read about or see something. It's another thing to get to experience life in a new area just like a local by getting to tag along with them (don't worry I won't be clingy, though lol).

Interests

  • reading
  • socializing
  • food
  • exploring
  • mountain hiking

Music, Movies, and Books

Love exercising and learning about and pondering the deep questions of life! Philosophy, history, and learning new skills and especially people are very enjoyable for me! Please ask about any other interests or anything else though! I'm a completely open book!

I enjoy good philosophy, history, psychology and sociology books. I listen to a little country, some rock, a little new grass, and some alternative music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nothing quite amazing, but trying to work up to it. My favorite places I've seen were Yosemite National Park, Grand Canyon National park, and camping next to Hwy 1 on the west coast!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about great nature spots in the area and how to get monstrous burritos at Chipotle for no extra cost! And travel hacks (especially for road trips).

If you're visiting here, I can offer beautiful areas, historic sites of East Texas, and quality conversation. Very good listener. Currently a grad student in psychology and passionate about it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

In addition to being a good listener and sharing useful information for travel hacks, I would love to buy some food that I could cook up for hosts! I'd also be happy to help with chores (especially heavy lifting).

Also, if you have any ideas/philosophies or ideas that you want to share with me, whether they be political, religious, non-religious, etc., I strive to be an openminded person who will intently listen with non-judgment.
