Hi! My name's James and I'm based out of Brisbane in Australia! i'm 24 and have almost finished studying to become a civil engineer! Once I graduate in July, I want to take a glorious sabbatical to go see more of the whole and get lost in a sense of wonder by doing a half-year round the world trip, where I want to go out and meet and connect with local people and those looking to share stories and experiences!! I'm open to hosting and provide a good location within Brisbane. This city is also a good stop before heading to other amazing locations like the Sunshine Coast (where Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo is!), the Gold Coast, and Byron Bay! A little bit more about me: I spent lots of time growing up in both Australia and America, which has led to me having a unique accent that you can't find anywhere else!! I'm an avid basketball player and actively follow the NBA as a massive Dallas Mavericks fan. I love getting outside and discovering different parks, hikes and beaches, and I especially love when a friend introduces new spots to me!! I also love discovering all types of music and would love to hear suggestions!!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I want to use my time traveling to practice being open minded and willing to try everything and learn from others while also imparting some wisdom from my time on this planet. I feel that the stories we can share with each other through backpacking, couch surfing, and other travel experiences are quite beautiful and have the capacity to bring us all together. I know that I love creating adventure, hearing about adventure, and using it as inspiration as I go about my life.
Music, Movies, and Books
All kinds of music and i love discovering what other people listen to! but some of my favourite artists include caravan palace, parov stelar, boards of canada, nujabes, and fishmans I'm a massive fan of the first spiderman from 2002, the blues brothers, and eternal sunshine of the spotless mind books wise: harry potter (the easy answer) but I also have an interesting fondness for the fight club book
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Traveling around Malaysia for a day with phones turned off and without directions. That taught me the true meaning of adventure and exploration
Teach, Learn, Share
T: All sorts of things about Australia through the perspective of a guy that has grown up overseas, how to play basketball, and how engineers build very big things!! L: Something funny in your language/culture, a dish that you're proud of, an amazing spot somewhere that not many people know about!! S: Anything we can think of together!
What I Can Share With Hosts
I can share everything and anything you'd want to know about Australian culture, people, food and great places and ways to best experience being in Australia. I can also teach you some of the slang, how to sound like an Aussie, It is my strong belief that everyone needs to try tim-tams and lamingtons haha
