About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm fascinated by other cultures and new experiences. I love exploring the outdoors, music and meeting people from different places.

PHILOSOPHY

In terms of making the most of life: Every time you wake up it's a new day you have a fresh start to be who you want and to live the kind of life you want.
In terms of how to behave in life: The Golden Rule/Karma/Reciprocal Altruism rings true with me - what goes around comes around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Canoffer a couch sometimes, and I would like to couch surf as a way to meet interesting people and make friends when I'm travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted a couple of times with only good experiences

Interests

I'm quite outdoorsy, I enjoy hill walking, mountaineering, rock climbing, anything that gets me out experiencing nature directly really. I love travelling to new places, exploring new cultures and I'm totally content wandering around museums and galleries for hours on end!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Gattaca, Dead Poets Society, Before Sunrise, Big Lebowski, Usual Suspects, Inception, Touching the Void, Memento.
Music: Very eclectic - I like pretty much anything that makes me dance or think, from Folk to Electro.
Books: Anything by Jorge Louis Borges, Thomas Browne or Hermann Hesse. Also Lord Jim, David Copperfield, Crime and Punishment, Huckleberry Finn, 1984, Down and Out in Paris and London, Count of Monte Cristo, Catch 22.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent two years living on a sub-Antarctic island and working as a marine biologist for the British Antarctic Survey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play Irish music on the tin whistle so I could always come up with a tune or two. I enjoy taking friends on hikes or climbs.
