About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I don't really have a single objective. I want to have fun, explore, and create as much as possible. Any help I can give or get along the way would be wonderful.

ABOUT ME

I'm a fan of tolerance. I can usually have fun doing just about anything, and I enjoy company. All of my free time is spent doing something with music or visual art, and I love the outdoors. I'm a pretty friendly dude and music is my life. I try to stay active by biking, skating, rock climbing, or just running around and climbing trees outside. In the warmer months I tend to stay out all night and in the winter months I tend to focus on things inside more over a cup of tea or coffee. I love to meet new people and I love a good conversation, especially when it opens my eyes to something new.

PHILOSOPHY

I heard somewhere that the people who say the most often do the least, and I think I agree with that pretty strongly. I don't think anyone needs to prove themselves to anyone else, I think everyone should just be who they are, even though I don't necessarily know who I am. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't like to talk about myself much, I'd rather let my actions do the talking and let people think what they want based off of some kind of interaction with me.

Also, I think it was Da Vinci who said that a work of art is never truly finished, only abandoned, and I should say that I agree with that as well (if that's a misquote, feel free to correct me). I don't think it's a bad thing either, sometimes you just need to let go, but I feel that there are always improvements that can be made.

Interests

Music and art. I love to draw and paint and I've been doing it for most of my life. I don't necessarily consider myself very good but I'll leave that up for other people to decide. If I had to pick one central theme of my life it would have to be music. I've been playing music since the 6th grade, I play guitar most, but I've been branching out more with bass, drums, and most recently, mandolin. I also dabble with banjos, ukuleles, and the occasional piano. Again, I don't know if I should be considered "good" at any of the above, I'll let others form their own opinions as I suppose it's all relative anyway. I love to be active in the warmth and I don't really know what else I can say without repeating myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've loved Jurassic Park (both book and movie) ever since I was a kid, something about dinosaurs has always fascinated me and Jurassic Park is what first introduced them to me.

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski is a great, although sometimes frustrating read. This book has made me think more about everything in my life.

Tortilla Flat by John Steinbeck reminds me of friendships I hope to have forever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent ten days traveling and camping around Iceland with my brother and friend.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love art and music so I may be able to share a thing or two about that, but I don't really consider myself an expert at anything. I would really enjoy an interesting conversation as I am fascinated by others' opinions on just about anything, and learning about the world.
