Music, Movies, and Books
I do a lot of reading, and try to read books either based in countries/places I visit or by authors from these places.
My favourite book of all time is Independant People by Halldor Laxness, which I picked up while visiting Iceland. When I read it, it made me want to grow a huge beard and quaff litres of coffee. I'm also a fan of Philip Roth, Ian McEwan, Roald Dahl and Paul Auster.
I also read a lot of cycling-based books, particularly William Fotheringham.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The cycling tour I made in August 2014 from Amsterdam to Berlin was fantastic. I completed it, on schedule and to plan, surprised and elated.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my knowledge on architecture, cycling, energy generation (I'm particularly interested in renewables), Berlin history, ecological footprinting, e-mobility and sustainable/low impact living in general and what I took away from all of the places I have travelled.
Having worked in architecture for over 10 years, I can advise you on any building projects you may have in mind, sketch up an option for re-modelling your house/apartment etc.
I could teach some guitar, and would be happy to learn more from others!
I can service your bicycle.
I can proofread English texts, and help you with your English language generally.
