Hi!
I am Jan, from Aachen (small city near Cologne), Germany.
I am a decent person with interests in more or less a thousand different things (going from sports (handball, icehockey, beachvolleyball, climbing, swimming, surfing!!!, playing the guitar and the drums,going on music festivals (Rock at Ring!), reading (mostly fantasy), doing short movies, cooking, organizing events for first-year-students, working with handicapped kids)

I am always open to meet new people, anywhere I go. Apart from travelling through Europe, I've been to Canada, USA, Argentina (lived there for half a year), since i discovered surfing two years ago, I've mostly been to places where that's possible, too (been to Spain/ Portugal, planning on a trip to Indonesia, Hawaii or Mali next year)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've started Couchsurfing very recently, because I love to travel, but don't want to be postmarked as a tourist. Through Couchsurfing I can connect to the local people, and hopefully visit places, I might not get to know by travelling to a city on my own.

In return I'd love to offer a place to stay to all the people who'd want to come visit western germany, in particular the area Aachen-Köln-Düsseldorf.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've got a pretty widespread taste in music:
Linkin Park (I grew up with LP, so nothing's gonna top that ;) ), System Of A Down, Pendulum, Sum 41, In Flames are some of my favorite rock bands, apart of that I love to hear Drum and bass, Rock Nacional Argentino, Local music from Cologne.

I read mostly fantasy (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Eragon etc), my current favorite is the Song of Ice and Fire/ Game of thrones Saga.

Movies: The usual suspects, Oceans, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, every Christopher Nolan movie ever done!
