Overview
About Me
I am a high functioning geek; I am engineer with a PhD in Computational Neuroscience, but these days I mostly manage projects; I am a simple person, though not simplistic.
My friends say I am not for the fainthearted, eg, I am not interested in talking about the weather, instead I would rather be talking about something that is important to you, or inspires you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm couchsurfing because it makes it easy to meet and connect with great people.
Interests
I like experiencing life, understanding systems, and designing systems. I love animal photo-safaris, or simply just observing animals in the wild.
Photography. Rock climbing. Safari. Playing boardgames, eg, Settlers of Catan. Dancing. Hacking mind/machines/systems.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did a 2 week horse back safari through Mongolia (the steppe).
I watched an 8h electric storm sitting on the riverbed between Namibia and Botswana.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a PhD in computational neuroscience (ie, "how the brain works"), a deep understanding of dynamical systems (both chaotic and linearly seperable), a love of nature.
We are building a aquaponics and gourmet mushroom grow room on our property. Along with our fruit trees, it is an opportunity to learn how to grow your own foods/plants.
I am interested in sharing personal spiritual experiences/hacking.
