We are a family with grown up children. My husband and I are retired, now concentrating in community development projects. We would love to offer our house for home stay services. We live in a five bed roomed house that can host multiple families or groups. We also have a big compound for leisure and entertainment activities. Discover the beauty of the quiet village life through our services. Outside our compound is a school for the orphans and vulnerable children under our care. We have the passion for the suffering innocent children whose parents died of HIV/AIDS, the disease is very severe and it’s impacts are felt all over the village. we are offering too excellent and varied volunteer opportunities for interested individuals in Kenyan schools and development / sustainable Agriculture projects as a paradigm approach to promote Global relations. We are based in Rusinga Island, on the shores of Lake Victoria, the second largest lake in the world. There are several out-door activities such as games, hiking, fishing etc.
Why I'm on Couchsurfing
To contribute to better mutual understanding between different people in a diverse community between North and South. To help more people in the North and the South (Kenya) gain knowledge and capacity to reflect critically in contemporary world view events, Global questions and responsibility i.e peace – security, climate, energy, culture, dialogue, education- knowledge and skills transfers, economics, technological development and of course many others including ICTs interventions.
