About Me

CURRENT MISSION

As we enter our 70s, to remember what a wonderful and enriching life we have led so far. To cherish our family, and to continue making our home and garden a place of wellbeing and a space for visitors from all over the world, and to continue exploring the world.

ABOUT US
Dave and I are now in or approaching our 70s, it feels quite strange because at heart we still feel so young! We've led an interesting life and intend to continue doing so!
25 years ago we took our three children out of school for a year and went back packing round the world together. It was the greatest experience imaginable - we travelled through South and East Africa, India, Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Boliva, the USA and Canada. We camped, hostelled and couch surfed and slept in any number of buses and trains and on airport and station floors. We educated the children as we travelled and they learned more in that year than they ever would have done at school.
Back home we've kept goats, pigs, bees and chickens and we try to be as self sufficient as possible with our large garden. We host people through WorkAway and HelpX which has allowed us to keep bringing the world into our home and learning about different places and cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have been Couchsurfing hosts, but because we live in a rural village quite a way from the nearest town, it's not generally somewhere that people are looking to stay, but we're always happy to help and to host families.

We've just joined again because we are planning another great trip, through Peru, India, Malawi and Swaziland. Reliving old memories and going back to see people we met 25 years ago.

Couchsurfing is a wonderful way to get to know people and learn what a place is really like, so we hope to make new friends as well as meet up with old.
