About Me

Hi!

After finishing my bachelors in Health and Life sciences I decided to take a gap year and learn and see some new things in this beautiful world. In this year I've worked at the university, in a museum and I've spent 4 months in Spain where I worked as an au pair and learned Spanish!

I love (making) music, nature, painting, traveling, (vegan) cooking, photographing, reading, watching movies and series, meeting people (from different cultures), good talks and so many more things.

My motto in life is to always do things you love and I try to follow this motto the best I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling through Eastern Europe with my best friend for two weeks and we would love to meet local people and experience the countries and culture through their eyes instead of only seeing the touristic spots.
And besides it being a great experience for us, I hope we can bring some of our culture with me on the way and we can have some wonderful exchanges.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love so many things, lol. Right now I listen a lot to Ben Platt, Vampire Weekend, dodie, Orla Gartland. Basically everything folk/pop-y, I like. But I can appreciate a lot of types of music. I love every Disney movie, but the same as with music; I like a lot of things and can enjoy basically every movie (rom-com, action, comedy...), except for horror.
I don't think I can name a favorite book. It depends on my mood, the book I'm reading, even what season it is ;).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one?!
I've volunteered as a leader in a CISV program for 15 year olds where I've travelled with four dutch kids to Jordan and we spent 3 weeks. CISV is an international organization and was founded in the belief that peace is possible through building friendship and mutual understanding, starting with children. In the three weeks of camp we build these friendships and this will be an experience I will never forget.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share stories with people, to discover differences but most importantly similarities. I can share my travel stories, experiences and company. I think learning from each other just by being the different persons we all are, is one of the most valuable things Couchsurfing can bring.
And of course I could teach some Dutch, I would love to make music together or make food together (I could share some Dutch (or Spanish) recipes).
