Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet as many people as I can, from the most varied backgrounds possible.
ABOUT ME
I am totally enjoying living independently and having the freedom of mature parenting (which means my son is away at college). I answer to no one, and this leaves me much room for spontaneity. I like to be outdoors, either walking, gardening, hiking, at the beach, anywhere I can breathe in the beauty that is Hawai`i.
PHILOSOPHY
Enjoy every day. Be pleasant, kind to others. Worry and guilt are useless emotions; jettison them from your life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted several CS guests, all pleasant experiences. I don't have any current travel plans, but this could change at any moment, so stay tuned. Mostly, I like to invite people from varied cultures and experiences to share my home and my company--living vicariously, if you will.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Only as a host. Several months, great guests!
Interests
Natural beauty all around us. I like to hike in the rainforests, the mountain eucalyptus forests, walk along the beach, or the streets of the city. The sounds of nature are soothing to me. The sounds of life invigorate me. I love street parties.

Music, Movies, and Books
All Music. Guess I'm kinda stuck in the sixties-seventies mostly, but all my young guests have turned me on to more current artists, so I would have to say I haven't come across anything so far that I don't like.
The one book that changed my life was "How to Live Free in an Unfree World," which I read as a teenager.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Red hot lava oozing from a volcano on the island of Hawai`i. Snorkeling amongst sea turtles.
Teach, Learn, Share
My proficiency is in knowledge of Healthcare. Not only the nitty gritty of what is done, how, with what implements/diagnostic tools, but the politics of the healthcare system. I have lived both sides, as a patient with a fatal disease, and as provider of ancillary service to the healthcare industry. That last word is the problem with the US system.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Mexico
