Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very excited and dependent on alternative forms of hospitality and exchange when traveling as CSing and work exchange provide great opportunities to meet and spend time with folks I haven't yet crossed paths with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been acquainted with CSers in Austin, TX but have never surfed with people I did not know previously!

Interests

Metalworking, design, construction, learning about cultures and lifestories different from my own, healing herbs & vegetables, great books, old photographs, markets, road trips, abandoned buildings, historic preservation, general exploring, hiking, vistas, enjoying delicious foodstuffs and the company of my loved ones

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies + tv-- I have a tendency towards nostalgia and particularly love an assortment of old, foreign films. Currently devouring downton abbey each evening after work!

Music-- gimme 20s jazz, gimme 30s blues, gimme 50s folk, gimme 2000's anti-folk, gimme 2013's top 40... i've got a willing ear for most things

Books-- I enjoy particular works of fiction but am easily wrapped up in memoir

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking on the great plateau in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the badlands of North Dakota on the fourth of july in an ancient prarie dog town that stretched for miles, with 360 degree view of only painted canyons and expansive badlands, with a herd of wild buffalo off in the distance.

Riding bareback on a white horse at sunset in brittany, FR with the setting sun on my left and the rising moon on my right.

Seeing a cloud of fireflies at dusk following evening chores at my farm in the summertime.

Collaboratively designing and building a house with eight friends in central Vermont.

Teach, Learn, Share

Welding, rough carpentry, gardening, farming, software (indesign, rhino, etc), singing, yoga
