About Me

Currently I am back where I grew up, finally living on my own and able to host and give back to the couchsurfing community! I taught in Korea and Guatemala and traveled for a year in between couchsurfing and staying in hostels. I love teaching, traveling, and eating lots of different foods. My philosophy on life is to live THIS moment. There's always someone worse off than you, and there's always someone better off than you. You can't control what actions happen to you but you can control your reaction. Choose to be happy. Don't get bogged down by the past or the future. You have the millisecond of time you exist in. Use it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used couchsurfing to travel the world and I absolutely loved meeting locals who helped travelers escape the tourist traps and showed me truly original experiences. Now I'm settled back into my hometown and ready to host any travelers who per chance happen upon York.

Interests

I love just about anything you have a passion for. I could listen to a geologist talk about rocks all day because I know I'm going to learn something that I didn't know before. I am currently looking to become a master of the crockpot.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music spans every genre. I'm into action, comedy, and horror movies. I loved reading the Harry Potter series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen fire dancers at the full moon party in koh phangnan, thailand. I've gone cliff jumping, bungee jumping, and sky diving as well. My favorite thing is sunsets. My top two are from the tsunami evacuation trail in Koh Phi Phi and Manarola, Italy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make some mean cream cheese and dill mashed potatoes. If you're practicing Korean per chance, I could give you a beginner lesson or at least teach you to read it in a few hours.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belize, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, France, Honduras, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
