Hey,
my name is Jens and my most significant characteristic is my passion for everything that´s creative.
I love to draw, paint, photograph and film, build, etc. That means that I also am quite curious, since I always try to find new materials, new techniques or new topics to be creative.

But let me start with my educational background: I am a professional carpenter and studied arts and craft design after that. Then I moved to the USA, studied for half a year and worked in California for another half year.
I moved back to Germany in August 2017 and work as a project engineer right now, but I also am a self-employed artist for a few months (check out my own website www.jenszaehringer.com).
I also spend my free time with running and going to the gym and love to travel around in Germany to visit my friends.
And - very important - I love animals. We had a dog for 9 years (you can find a picture of him in my profile) and I started working in an animal shelter voluntarily, since I missed him so much after moving out of my parents´ home.
That´s a short overview of me :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Well, I love traveling around the world (I have already been in Peru, USA, Canada, Egypt, Morocco and many countries in europe) and have met so many nice people.
I think that it´s one of the most interesting things ever to meet new people because everybody has experienced so much and has many stories to tell. I do like to share my stories, too and hope to create more great stories with new friends.
I wasn´t really aware of couchsurfing so far, or at least never thought about it. I always used AirBnB and was quite happy about it. Now I want to explore Berlin and thought about trying something new: Couchsurfing.
So here I am :)

Music: ODESZA!!!!!!!!!!!, Moderat and many other ones but I don´t remember the names right now since I always just play my deezer playlist and therefore never learn the names

Movies: Oblivion, Bosch (Netflix tv show), Transformers (but only 1-3), chef´s table (also Netflix tv show), etc.

Books: The sworm- Frank Schätzing, all books from Andreas Eschbach and Dan Brown, Homo Deus, The Joker-Markus Zusak, etc.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I lived in California for half a year. One day a grabbed my stuff and drove to the rocky mountains for a weekend in February. I rent some snow shoes, took my backpack with food and camera and just walked in the nature without any specific goal. I arrived on top of the mountain in the afternoon, found a nice place to rest and waited for the sunset. I was completely alone on top of the mountain with an incredible view over the valley covered under tons of snow. And then the sun painted everything in incredibly intense orange, red and purple colors. It was the most beautiful sunset I´ve ever seen.

I love to talk about art and other creative stuff and I think I can share a lot about this topic.
