Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The experiences of traveling is about expanding your own horizon and exposing yourself to new influences. Thus, one has to leave the comfortable home and explore the world by plunging into a world that was previously unknown. The unknown is but a door that opens and behind it one experiences marvelous things. I am on Couchsurfing because I am curious to find out what awaits me behind the next door.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The challenges we seek help us to find and expand our personal boundaries. Sometimes we cross them and go places we didn't think we could. An experience that stands out among all of the challenges and risks I have taken are my travels thru Mongolia. I attempted to immerse myself in the Mongolian culture to gain a deeper understanding of the living conditions of a traditional Nomad. Part of the process was buying a horse and riding for over 800 Km across nomadic grasslands, snowcapped mountains and along the Kovsgolnur lake in the North-West of Mongolia. I ate and lived like the locals. I even looked like one after I was given traditional robes by a nomadic family which hosted me for some nights. I found a dog which followed me and I fed him in return. I drank from rivers and ate only when I could. I heard the howling of wolves at night and felt the storms during the day, drenching my clothes.
