About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I have met some wonderful people on CS, and hope to meet many more. Thanks to all.

I was verified, then I did not pay for a year and all my verification went "POOF'.

ABOUT ME

No longer working full time. I feel a need to see and learn more and have been working on that. My son moved back home a year ago, and he now is my built in dog sitter when I explore the world.

Winter in MN gets cold, I need a month or 2 away where I can explore and feel safe. I found a house on the Pacific coast of Mexico, in a small village south of Mazatlan. If you are venturing out in that area I could likely host there as well.

PHILOSOPHY

Lend a hand when you can.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness." from Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met fellow travelers in other cities, and here in Minneapolis. I try to make it to local Events too.

So far I have hosted guests from Vietnam and Venezuela, and met up with surfers from around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have shared information about my location with travelers, and enjoy meeting up with new people when they are here.

Interests

Non-Urban travel in the US and almost anything international is on my list. I typically enjoy nature and natural scenery more than man-made.

To me it is great to meet new travelers. After being on CS for a couple of years I realize I have not participated enough by interacting and helping other travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I was fortunate to see Stevie Ray Vaughan followed by Jimmy Buffet at an outdoor summer event in St Paul. Bob Marley still resonates when I hear him.

All types of rock are fun to listen to. And, when traveling in the country I am able to listen to and enjoy country. The best is music tends to be something local I hear when traveling in another country.

My reading list includes a variety, but definitely includes travel magazines and guides.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving on Great Barrier Reef then seeing the Daintree rainforest the next day.

Teach, Learn, Share

Its fun to trade travel stories with others, learn about culture differences, taste and smell the local foods and flavors, and see what makes life worth living in an area.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A smile, a good attitude, and insight into my life experiences. I am happy to help out if there is some work to do.
