CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
In Cambodia the price of a child slave is $50. Experts estimate that up to 27 million people are slaves today. At least 300,000 children serve in armed conflicts around the world, perhaps twice that number. I have seen genocide in every decade I've been alive--Iraq in the 80's, Rwanda in the 90's, and most recently, Darfur. These numbers do not bother me, they haunt me. Never again? If this post-Rwanda slogan can ever be true, we have work to do.
In high school I traveled to China with a student mission organization called Teen Mania. That same summer I saw the documentary Speak Truth to Power. Both revealed the bowels of injustice and exploitation, including the dark worlds of sex trafficking and poverty. I realized that these things happen because we let them happen. We turn our eyes from the inhumanity of suffering. Yet the religion God accepts as pure and blameless is to care for widows and orphans. We are to love mercy and seek justice. I have a choice. This is my life. This is my fight.
PHILOSOPHY
seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.
