ABOUT ME
If you meet me you will realize that I am extremely outgoing, kind of quirky and always ready to learn.
I will be starting a Phd program this fall at UIC. I am super excited to enter the world of academia! While completing my undergrad, I was a teachers assistant in a special education classroom for four years. I love working with kids, especially children with special needs.
I am heavily involved with IMPACT Chicago, which is a non-for profit that is committed to ending violence and building a non-violent world in which all people can live safely and with dignity. Basically it is a feminist self-defense class.
I have a good sense of humor although I am not funny (even though I try to be :) ). I enjoy going out- checking out what different cities have to offer and meeting new people. I try to avoid touristy places. I would much rather experience the culture and hang out with locals. I am really interested in studying social movements and I would consider myself an activist.
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live...and learn along the way

White water rafting in Mexico., Floating in the dead sea, hiking around the Canyon of Nahal Betzet and the Jilaboon, making it to the top of Mount Masada just in time to see the sun rise.
Teach, Learn, Share
"Self-defense is a pragmatic and necessary extention of self-love, self-respect and determination. Self-defense does not contradict a commitment to nonviolence. While the form of self-defense is up to the individual woman, the need for self-defense is unquestionable" Hagan
