I am Jessica and I enjoy exploring new places and meeting new people. I am currently living in Washington where I work on a technical rescue team and teach ropes classes. For fun, I enjoy caving, canyoneering, rock climbing, and mountaineering. Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing so that I can experience the authentic culture of the place I am visiting. I look forward to meeting the locals, sharing stories, building new friendships and connecting with the community. For anyone visiting my hometown, I want them to have the experience they deserve by sharing with them the hidden beauties of my own city. I am also always down for story swapping over a beer, while making a home cooked meal. I love meeting new people so I am so glad Couchsurfing exists :)

I am a yoga instructor if you want to join in on a mindful movement sesh. I speak some Spanish so if you speak Spanish and are trying to learn English then that would be a great fit! Additionally I have worked as a canyoneering guide and so I am savy with technical rope work if you are interested in learning any kind of rappelling/ascending rope, knots, rigging, climbing, etc. I also have a geoscience background and enjoy figuring out the local geomorphology of where I am traveling through and would love to share:)
What I Can Share With Hosts
• I would be delighted to share cooking a meal with you. I am vegetarian, but can still crank out some delicious feel good food • I am learning Spanish and so if you have an interest in practicing English or Spanish, then it would be a pleasure to practice together • I also do yoga everyday. If you would like to do yoga with me at night for a relaxing rest or in the morning to start your day fresh and full of energy, then I would love to share this with you.
My Interests
I am a graduate research assistant for glacier caves and geological studies. I have a passion for nature and exploring all it has to offer. Interpreting the landscapes of the places I travel is one of my favorite things as well as debating these phenomena with others. I am an open-minded person who loves learning. Some things I’m interested in include cosmology, consciousness, fungi, rope rescue, and the outdoors.
