About Me
Hello! I am a cheerful, adventurous, community-oriented Buddhist meditator from Vancouver, Canada. I love meeting and connecting with people, giving and sharing, and thrive in communities. I lived at a zen temple in Vancouver for 6 months before starting my travels, and loved every minute of it. Currently working as a Software Developer, but looking to change careers and study medicine when I return to Canada.
I love music, dance, and all things nature - plants, animals, geology, oceans/lakes/rivers, and exploring the wild places. I especially enjoy activities that are physically active and challenge my body. I'm a bit of a mystic, and love giving tarot readings to friends and strangers. I am community-minded and considerate, always looking for ways to contribute and aspiring to leave places better than I found them. I don't drink, but I love attending dances and parties where alcohol is not the focus!
I have many food intolerances, so I need access to an oven, stove, fridge and freezer wherever I stay. I will take care of my own meal planning, grocery shopping, and food prep, and I'm happy to provide my own cookware if necessary. I am used to packing my own food for all my outings, and calling ahead to restaurants to ask permission to bring my own meal (never been turned down so far). I've been living with food intolerances for 15 years, so I'm very efficient with all this. I'm a great cook (including foods that I cannot eat) and would be happy to cook for you during my visit. You may attempt to cook for me if you wish, but be warned you will have to get creative to accommodate my dietary restrictions, and I'll have to approve all ingredients/recipes beforehand (no surprises)! 😆
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the premise of the Couchsurfing community - human connection, sharing our unique gifts and life experiences, generosity and cultural exchange. Community building is deeply important to me at this stage of my life, so I cannot think of a better way to travel than this. I'd like to connect with as many people as I can, and experience as many new things as I can while I'm here!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - my tastes are always changing, but lately I'm really into Amapiano and Bluegrass. I attend monthly Amapiano dance nights back home in Vancouver and I'm planning a skill swap with an Amapiano and Latin dance teacher for when I return!
Movies - Return of the King is my favorite movie of all time (I'm a huge fantasy and LOTR nerd lol). I also love Star Wars, The Hunger Games, and Studio Ghibli, especially Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Other movies I’ve enjoyed lately: I Am Mother, Flow, Wonka.
TV - My favorite TV shows are House and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Really enjoyed The Handmaid's Tale. I enjoy warm fuzzy feel-good shows like Bluey, Bee and Puppycat, Anne With an E, etc. and nature documentaries like Planet Earth, Our Planet, etc.
Books - The Mind Illuminated is my favorite book. I read a lot of dharma/meditation books, self-improvement books, fantasy (LOTR, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, His Dark Materials, Name of the Wind, Shadow and Bone, etc.), and some sci fi. Currently reading The Murderbot Diaries and really enjoying it!
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH
I'm a biohacking/health nerd, deeply passionate about health due to health problems I experienced in my 20s, planning to study Lifestyle Medicine when I return to Canada. Happy to share tips on healthy eating/nutrition/sleep/lifestyle (and always open to learning from others). I've also created lots of delicious healthy recipes which I can teach you how to make! If you have a favorite dish, I can create an ultra-healthy version for you, and teach you how to make it!
I can also teach you soapmaking, it is one of my favorite hobbies! We can create a soap together with your favorite colors, scents, plants, clays, etc.
I've been reading tarot since 2011 so if you're interested in learning tarot, I can share what I know.
Tutored computer programming for 6+ years and worked as a professional Web/Software Developer since 2013. If you're an aspiring programmer, I can help you learn!
LEARN
Eager to learn guitar, singing, and just about any kind of dance!
Planning to get my SCUBA license here in Perth, so if you want to get your license with me, and/or do some diving together, let me know!
Love learning about all the local plants and animals, and want to see as many of them as I can while I'm here!
Tell me about all the amazing nature spots near you, and maybe we can explore them together!
SHARE
I will cook you delicious and ridiculously healthy meals, clean your home, adventure with you, go out dancing with you, play games with you, and do tarot readings to help provide insight into your life (if you're into that kind of thing)! :)
