We have friends who have had great experiences with CouchSurfing in the US and Europe, so we decided to try it out. We love opening our home to others as much as we love meeting new people, so we thought this would be great for us, too. So far, our hosting experiences have been exceptional. Here are two of our favorite stories: A girl from France wants to surprise her best friend, who attends the college where we live. That best friend just happened to be Jessica's voice student, and she was able to arrange a surprise meeting. Two people on an Americana-themed trip decide to stay in Marietta on their way to the Smokies, knowing nothing about Marietta. They happened to stay with us during the Sternwheeler Festival, which is Americana at its best. They saw fireworks from our porch and saw tons of Sternwheelers in our quaint, historical downtown.
