About Me

WHERE I AM...

I've been travelling for just over two years now, the rhythm of life has been so diverse it's almost impossible to put into words but it's been beautiful, daring and unexpected to say the least. Some people say I'm escaping reality - I say it's a big world and to me, that is the reality.

Life over the last two years has involved all kinds of things!... I left my job at HSBC to work in an orphanage in Sri Lanka, backpacked Thailand for 6 weeks, reunited with my sister and explored a little of Malaysia and Singapore. I spent a few months in Australia. I nannied for an Italian family, sold tickets for the Vatican and taught English in Rome. I studied Spanish in Barcelona. Last November I travelled to Bolivia to work in a boys refuge and then I met my boyfriend, with whom I have temporarily settled in Santiago, Chile.

The last two years have been far more than just a pocketful of memories to me, I've developed so much as a person in such a short space of time, all those stories, those people, the insight, the lessons, the freedom... It's been awesome.

GET INSIDE MY MIND A LITTLE

I care a lot about equality. There are so many tangents I could take this to but it's very simple really, everyone is truly equal. The more I've moved around the more this fundamental has sunk into me hopefully making me a little more compassionate & understanding and a little less judgemental or naive with each step.

I'm happy not knowing where my future is going, I don't have a 5-year plan or a set of goals, I don't have any desire to enslave myself to capitalism, I'm still learning and figuring out what I stand for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

ME & COUCHSURFING

The couchsurf community is beyond cool. I've couchsurfed once before and it was such a great experience! It was last summer in Bournemouth on my way back from Italy and my host was so kind and interesting, I can't wait to have my own place for a chance to host too.

Interests

My interests are dang broad... I'm extremely easy-going and easily pleased. I love to really get to know new cultures, sharing company with different people and enjoying nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read. I'm really into my Spanish books at the moment because I'm still learning and living with my Chilean family means that music is ringing through the house almost all day... Pretty much every genre you could imagine. My boyfriend knows the words to an infinite amount of songs!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing/shocking/weird things that has happened to me was being struck by lightening in Australia. Yeah...

Teach, Learn, Share

In a particular mood, I'm a little bit of a storyteller. I've racked up a few from various places!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Ooh... Good company (I hope) and a healthy dose of smiles and gratefulness! I wish I had a special skill I could offer!!... I can make really good sandwiches?

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Bolivia, Cuba, Finland, France, Malaysia, Morocco, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
