About Me

Hey, Hi, Hello! I'm Jiayden. Huge thanks to my mother for the difficult spelling with my name. I've pretty much had to spell it out every day my entire life

I'm a freelance creative specialising in graphic and print design, photography, videography, journalism, music and more. Some could say i'm slightly obsessed. I am also an avid travel fanatic and love to spend my time exploring the world, experiencing new cultures and having fun.

Luckily this year I have been able to work remote, and have so far spent my time in Portugal, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Berlin, Greece and Malta. Heading over to the US for the first time soon and then making my day down through Mexico to South America. I'm very excited!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find couchsurfing a good way to learn the way of life from a locals point of view and this is what I have a lot of interest in.

The way each surfer can completely indulge in the different cultural aspects of the hosts life is something that really intrigues me. The food, sightseeing, music, art and nightlife are things that I am most interested in.

I am also travelling by myself so it would be good to have some company.

Interests

Arts, photography, journalism, travelling and meeting new people, constantly striving to gain life experience outside of the box, pushing myself to try/learn new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is my therapy, I appreciate all forms of music. After growing up and being raised in a family of musicians it was something that has always been part of my life. I dabbled with a few different instruments as a kid but regret not diving head first into it. My plans once I get back is to pick up the guitar again as it is the perfect instrument to travel with and take wherever you go - as well as learning piano: the backbone of music and something that will aid my music productions to a great extent.

I have also been producing my own electronic music and DJing for the last 10 years, playing at a large variety of clubs across Melbourne and Australia.

Launched my own record label/brand Recovery Collective in 2014, acting as a platform to work with upcoming and emerging talent from across the globe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Filmed a DJ set atop an abandoned WWIII bunker in Barcelona with 360 panoramic views of the city at night.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always striving to share experiences with anybody and everybody. I think this is what I love about travelling, meeting new people, from across the globe, from different backgrounds and each with their own stories to share. Life lessons that can be learnt and/or taught with one another.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good times, great conversation and a head of knowledge open to share with anybody who has the time.
