About Me

I am a retired Army Sergeant First Class. My wife and I will be celebrating 24 years of marriage this October. Together we have three children; 19(B), 15(G), &14(G).
I am currently on a journey walking across America to raise awareness for the 22 Veterans who die by suicide on a daily basis in the United States.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing as a means of finding affordable and safe accommodations on my journey across America during the summer of 2019. So far, I have been tremendously blessed by the hospitality of future friends (strangers) I have met along the way. In the future, I hope to be able to pay such hospitality forward.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is classic rock from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. My favorite band is the Neverland Express with Meatloaf.
I like movies that require a bit of participation from the viewer. Movies that seem to be one thing but turn out to be something different. Favorites include "Jacob's Ladder," "Donnie Darko," "Dark City," "Memento," anything with a Twilight Zone feeling about it.
On TV, I enjoy AMC's The Walking Dead. I liked Netflix's Stranger Things. I also occasionally like a good Sitcom. Seinfeld holds up really well to repeat viewings.
My favorite authors are Stephen King and Philip K. Dick. My favorite book is the Dickens classic "A Tale of Two Cities.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Between Summer of 2017 and summer 2018, I assembled, trained, and supervised a Military Funeral Honors team responsible for rendering honors to over 300 veterans as they were laid to rest. This was a very humbling experience and I was grateful for the chance to show a final measure of respect to the men and women who have sacrificed so much in service to our nation.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Iraq, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Poland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Cuba, Germany, Iceland, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, United States
