CURRENT MISSION Sustainable community ABOUT ME I believe 350.org has it right-if atmospheric carbon is not brought back below 350 ppm, climate catastrophe is inevitable. I'd love to show people how much better life in the USA can be if we live closer together in towns, stop driving cars and trucks, grow our own food, stop burning fossil fuels, and regain some sort of shared spiritual life.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I'm a newcomer to CS. Feeling isolated in rural Maine, I'd love to meet interesting people in this area. Especially folks passionate about sustainability. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE In November 2009 I sailed from northern Maine with three other guys in a 32' sailboat, bound for Bermuda, then Nassau. I learned I can sleep curled up on sailbags in the forepeak, wedged into a quarter berth, and in 3-hour snatches on the Bermuda-Nassau passage when after two crew jumped ship in Bermuda it was only the skipper and me.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
A 2000 mile bluewater sailing voyage. Life at Arcosanti, AZ.
