CURRENT MISSION Turn 13 acres into a farm and home. ABOUT ME We're a very happily married couple with one son. We both work full time and generally have a bunch of side projects going on too. We were both Peace Corps Volunteers in Peru and the spirit of cultural exchange is alive and well in us. PHILOSOPHY We like meeting new people that can teach us new things. We like asking lots of questions, and we love to laugh a lot.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Host and surf COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE We've surfed in many places in the US and a couple in Canada, and I just love all the experiences we've had. We've had fewer hosting experiences because we just don't get a ton of requests. I love the deeper sense of place that couchsurfing affords us, and I love that it encourages us to trust one another. As a host, I love that it encourages me to be a tourist in the place I live.
Music, Movies, and Books
Life of Pi, Books by Dave Eggers and Wally Lamb. Documentaries. Go-go, reggae, hip-hop, Django Reinhardt.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Camped in the desert in Jordan.
Teach, Learn, Share
We always have projects, so there are plenty of learn by helping opportunities with us. We have 13 acres about an hour from DC and have built two houses on it pretty much all by ourselves. We currently rent out one house to farm tenants and have about two acres in cut flower production. So if you're into learning about sustainable buildings and sustainable farming, come lend us a hand. We'd really like to learn more about sustainable agriculture around the world.
What I Can Share With Hosts
Our inlaws live in an inlaw suite attached to our house and are not so keen on couchsurfing. We are more than happy to host anytime they happen to be away.
