关于我

My wonderful husband, Jeremy & I have a 10-year-old son (gamer & comic lover) & an 8-year-old daughter (chief & artist). Our puppy, Prince Rocket, was born on my birthday this year. Our two cats are still learning to like him.

I work at the Logan Public Library & serve in music ministry at Logan Christian Church. Ironically we don't live in Logan. Our nice town, Magnolia, is basically a suburb of Logan (population 1,454). The school, gas station, library, churches... is in Logan.

We love our neighbors & being a few miles from Grandparents. I also enjoy friends, (don't we all), flower gardening, learning painting, decorating & audio books. This month I've been learning about Hygge & lighting.

I'm on couch surfing to find an affordable way to travel.

(I'm hoping to take our 8-year-old to DC, just the two of us.) He chose that over Disneyland. My daughter & I just took a California vacca (she likes to say vacca instead of vacation, apparently it's much cooler) to see family & Disneyland. (A friend who works there got us in free.) It was such a great time to connect with joy.

I get to sing & visit with the the 3-5th graders every Sunday. Right now we are working on our Christmas program. (When you read this, that maybe over.) I'm so glad that we have a team in charge of it this year, instead of just me. Helen & Daniel have added some great ideas. I get to help lead songs for the adults about every other week. Thankfully even when I have a solo, the guitar play jumps into to save the day if I miss my cue.

A few times a year I teach art classes. Usually for non-profits like Blue- wives or fundraisers. I really enjoy painting, and using stencils means I don't have to have amazing skills to help others enjoy it too. I originally planned to teach the library students art, but usually, they like to do their own original creations. It's delightful to see they're creativity.

Most of my flowers are heir-loom. My oldest rose dates to Great- Great- Grandma. Grandma Judy always let me pick her flowers growing up, and now I have starts of many of those.

Every Sunday after church we go to my Grandma's for a family reunion lunch. My favorite is when my bother brings my nieces & nephew. It's so fun how the kids all get along & reminds me of growing up with cousins as best friends.

Mental health doesn't seem like a very good hobby, but living with depressive bi-polar makes prayer & self-care a priority. I'm amazed at how quickly things are improving/ maintaining. Part of me would like to leave this out, but I'm working on claiming where I'm at. It's doubtful that you'd guess it when we meet, but transparency has been very healing for me.

音乐、电影和书籍

I am a fairly indecisive lady when it comes to favorite things, because I enjoy so many.

Right now the Netflix "fireplace" is my favorite movie. Last night we watched "Young Victoria" and followed that up with "The House of Winsor." It keeps replaying through my mind.

In sharp contrast my husband & I enjoy "Stranger Things" & most anything Marvel. Currently, my favorite song to sing with the kids is "Watch out here comes my arrow." It's from a humorous You-Tube Video. They love singing it so much, and change the words to goofy things, laughingly. Simply because David enjoys them so much, You-Tube videos about Marvel are pretty fun for me right now.

In the last few weeks I've been listening to lots of audio books:
*Living the Cross Centered Life: Keeping the Gospel the Main Thing, By C. J. Mahaney

*Cultivate, A Grace-Filled Guide to Growing an Intentional Life, By: Lara Casey (I didn't even know it was really about gardening when I started it. It was just a Christian book with good ratings on sale.)

*Solve for Happy, Engineer Your Path to Joy. By: Mo Gawdat

*Do Over. By: Jonathan Acuff

* Joy on Demand. by: Chade-Meng Tan

*The Power of Positive Dog Training, By: Pat Miller

*The End of Average was fascinating. I discovered WGU, a great rethinking of colleges & some great ideas for elementary education.

Leard to be okay with being not too impressive. (Okay I'm still working on it, but it's coming along well.)

Hopefully, we're interesting. At very least we'll be polite & clean up after ourselves. It's really fun hearing about other people's adventures, so hopefully being a good listener counts as something I can share.
