CURRENT MISSION
Learning, Living, and the like.
ABOUT ME
I believe that people should do what they enjoy and live as the person that they are meant to be (what a leading phrase!), allowing for unconventional definitions of success.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that there exists an omnipresent God/Spirit/Ultimate Being who created us to live in joyful harmony with itself. I think that all humans have a personal essence beyond their physicality, and if they so choose they can unite themselves with this God through the Jesus Christ of history.
I'm a bit libertarian in my view of governments, and I think that it is foolish to try and force people to change their personal lifestyle and beliefs. Experience, reality, and reason should and will eventually guide people to see if a particular claim is or isn't truth.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I have a place available of my own, I'd like to make it open as well. I tell everyone about it when the subject of travel comes up and suggest that they look into couchsurfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new to the formal art of couchsurfing, but when I lived in dorms we'd have friends over casually which was always fun. My favorite time, though, was when a anti-genocide conference was held, and everyone who was staying in my building pretty much decided to sleep up in the same room and just hang out all night talking and playing cards/etc (although I'm pretty terrible at cards!)
Interests
Music, particularly folk (trying to play the mandolin!)

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy bluegrass/Americana (Chris Thile, Nickel Creek, Bela Fleck, David Grisman), some Irish-styled stuff (Moya Brennan, Capercaillie), and a bunch of other types as well. I'm pretty open to hearing and trying new music.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could try and share the bits that I know on mandolin, or some photography basics, or maybe even some help with your electric circuits homework :-). I am up for learning anything, and as for sharing something , feel free to take a couple of guitar/mandolin picks with you for the rest of your travels. I don't mind giving a few American English lessons, either.
