I am a journalist based in Nairobi, Kenya.

I used to teach science on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to the smartest kids on Earth.

I like to take pictures, read, ski, get into the wilderness, and eat foods I haven't tasted before.

Right now I think everyone should read "The Absoloutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie. And of course "100 Years of Solitude."

Love all types of music--especially if I've never heard it before.
