About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To think outiside the box and be creative for the betterment of all :)

ABOUT ME

Update - Just arrived back in Townsville after 12 months of travelling, happy to try and show other travellers around the place. When I have my own place I will be looking to host again.

I have a number of jobs I do which I enjoy but take up a fair chunk of my time. In recent years my most time consuming job has been teaching at an Indigenous school and trying to work with community members to provide better opportunities and resilience for these young people. I also help coach a couple of the local junior footy teams for the boys and girls which I love seeing the kids succeed in :) My family owns a cattle property so I also do plenty of work in the country and enjoy riding horses and being outside. Later this year I will be going travelling for up to a year and plan to sink my teeth into some writing opportunities while I have the time :) I enjoy hearing funny stories and meeting new people . I have travelled to some rarely travelled and remote places of Australia and also through parts of the USA.

PHILOSOPHY

If you want something different you need to do something different :)Don't stress there is probably a simple solution in front of you, make a difference and make someone else's life a little better, share your knowledge to help others

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So I have now been involved in the CS community for a couple of months now and have had a brilliant time hosting new friends from Denmark, Germany, USA and India so far. I so wish I'd heard of this earlier! I will be travelling myself later this year and will hopefully get an opportunity to visit some of my new friends and make some more of my own as I experience different places :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a great time hosting a number of cool people from different places. I've learnt so much from them already...I feel truly blessed by having these people come into my life and share their experiences.

Interests

Sharing stories, trying different things, learning something new, all sports, writing, fishing, camping, horse riding, pub games :) travelling, the history of places, learning new cultures

Music, Movies, and Books

U2, Bonjovi, Oasis, current music in the charts, live pub music

Comedies, horror, action, true stories, I am right into game of Thrones atm and sons of anarchy and justified

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have helped design and implement programs which have made such a big difference to a lot of less priveledged peoples lives and seen those young people go onto successful and happy things... a bit of hard work, patience and simple things can provide untold rewards :) ...... When I go riding on our family property which is amazingly untouched and of significant size

Teach, Learn, Share

Relax and be thankful, the person over the counter is trying their best and often is just the messenger.... I've been places before where a group of us having booked 5 rooms had to share one room because there was no other room in the whole town.... complaining doesn't change anything,,, just roll with it and enjoy what you can.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Mexico, United States
