Free to do as the mood strikes me; Kids grown up & grand kids a source of joy.
No more deadlines to contend with other than flight schedules
I'm now at the stage between active work and leisurely retirement.
The plan now is to do a bit of work then take time off; travel, and when pocket money runs out, do a bit more freelancing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hotels have been very convenient when I had to be fresh for meetings in new places etc, but it meant that after all these years, and despite having travelled half the world, I've had very little contact with "the natives" socially. It has been hotels, restaurant food and rarely a real home cooked food or unpretentious local meal.
I now want to see the world in Slo-mo; to turn up at a place with no tight knit schedule other than to buy a weekly bus pass and live like a local,
and when I'm not travelling, i'm happy for the world to visit me; I've a spare room.

toooo many with Netflix, Amazon prime, Roku etc helping to idle away the hours.
The downside is that Ive not read a book in years. That used to be such a retreat.
live music, buskers, ethnic music trumps rap & techno pop for me.

Love trekking so been up Kilimanjaro, done the Grouse Grind, Scafell Pike & Snowdon plus trekking around Tene
