My name is Johanna and, guess what? I love travelling, getting to know new cultures, and eating great food. While this sounds pretty basic, especially here on couchsurfing, I'm sure we'd still have a good time. I studied cognitive science. This is brain stuff. And computer science. And biology. And everything else you can think of. It's weird but I haven't met anyone who wasn't interested in having a conversation about it because we all want to get to know what the hell is going on in our minds, right? I'm originally from Austria, but I lived and studied in Ljubljana (Slovenia) for half a year and in Bratislava (Slovakia) for 1.5 years. Now I'm back in Austria. I live and (usually) travel with my boyfriend Andi, so you’ll likely meet him too: https://couchsurfing.page.link/haZ1gVXojPbjqhDU8 Don’t worry, we’ve been together for a long time so we’re beyond the love-birds state. We promise, you won’t feel like the fifth wheel :))

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I started couchsurfing when I was a student with plenty of time and energy, but no money. Well, I really loved the experience every single time and since then I keep returning. Getting to know and/or living with people from the country you're going to has always been a fantastic experience. You get to see things from a completely different perspective and that's what I'm always up to! If you‘d like to send me a request, please start it with the keyword „alpaca“ so I know you read my description properly. Thanks!
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: random! From Jazz to Hip Hop to Latino stuff, I'm all yours Movies: no horror/thrillers! But, I love European/independent movies with a bit of a more interesting story than the average Hollywood comedy. Books: novels of all kinds, I'm easy to please :)
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Diving through a tornado of barracudas (those are fish ;) ). And I climbed that freaking sky-ladder (check out my photos and you know what I mean).
Teach, Learn, Share
- textile art (knitting, sewing) - coding (computers) - mind-blowing stuff about, well, the mind - fun facts on animals - German language - insights from an Austrian about the differences between Austria, Germany, and Switzerland ;) Disclaimer: I'm mostly self-taught so I have usually no idea what I'm doing, but yeah, I can still share at least how I think things work. :)
What I Can Share With Hosts
Depends on what you're interested in, but I'm sure we'll have great conversations, and I'm happy to invite you for some dinner or similar :) You can practice German with me if you like, but no pressure! :)
