About Me

I live in Langenbach, a not-so-quiet-village near Freising ( 8minutes by train) with my two flatmates and two cats.

PLEASE NOTE: AT THE MOMENT WE CAN´T HOST BUT YOU CAN SEND US REQUESTS FOR LATER!

Please, before sending a request, read my profile carefully to check if we share common interests and if you´d feel comfortable staying with me.
I prefer guests who stay at least two nights so I can actually spend time with you and get to know you.
I like nature (of course as a Forester), traveling and meeting new people.
I'm very fond of cooking and baking and always try out new stuff from all over the world.
I'm also a very passionate reader whenever I find the time for it. My favourite genres are fantasy, science fiction and historical novels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I created this account several years ago after having heard about couchsurfing from a magazine but never had the courage to actually use it.

As a Surfer

On a backpacking trip with my tent in the south of Norway that I almost had to cancel after a few days because I became ill ( there's an interesting story to share about the dangers of walking over snow without sunglasses) I finally summoned up the courage to go and try couchsurfing. Why? After I was let go from the hospital, one of the workers there let me - a complete stranger - stay at her home for a few days until I felt better. I had a really positive experience with her and afterwards went to a campingplace but I had also decided that I wanted to see Oslo, too. And that was when I remembered, there's that thing called couchsurfing!
I found really good hosts there and my first couchsurfing experience was so nice that I'm really sure I will do that more often in the future!

As A Host
Recently I decided I´d like to try hosting other couchsurfers. In the places I lived before that was not possible (not enough space) but right now my flatmates and I moved to a bigger flat where we can now also have guests :)
I am hoping and looking forward to meet people from all over the world and exchange knowledge and culture.

Interests

OK, I think I should have written here what I already wrote in "about me".
But I can add that I also like swimming, telling stories (or listen to other people's stories), spending time in museums and other cultural activities.
Of course I also never say no to a comfy evening in front of the TV with friends or family.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wolf Watching in Belarus
Travelled Norway and found amazing hosts :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I'll use this field to write a bit about what I've learned, taught and shared via couchsurfing so far :)
Learned:
- how to make really good Burgers (from Espen, Oslo)
- how to make teqenos venezolanos (from Omar, Oslo)
- how to eat Indian food with the hands (from Randeep, Oslo)
Taught:
- some edible plants and what to do with them
- how to make some German dishes :)
Shared:
- Sweets I brought over from Germany
- a lot of thoughts and conversations

I just realised this all seems to be about food but don't worry, that's not my only interest ;) Over time this list will grow and hopefully also include things that are related to other things than food

What I Can Share with Hosts

This list is only small but I hope it will grow over time :)
The story of how I became snowblind
My knowledge of nature and edible plants
Storytelling
My amazing cooking abilities concerning the Bavarian and especially Austrian kitchen (have you ever heard about Kaiserschmarr'n and Topfenpalatschinken? Or Gulasch, Kartoffelbrei and Semmelknödel?)
