CURRENT MISSION

Provide the support to others that I received when I was travelling throughout UK and Europe in 1970's and to offer the type of hospitality I would wish others to provide to my own two children, who are currently visiting family and friends in Italy.

Kind, good-hearted, down-to-earth ... Genuine.
Happy to help others and to meet new people. Totally enjoyed travelling myself when I was in my prime (in the 1970s) and would love to help someone who is doing the same ... Hey it is tough out there ... we need all the help we can get ... Come visit, say G'day, and have a chat.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a hard-working gent in his 50s ... My children have finished school and are travelling during their "Gap" years ... so I wanted to offer the same hospitality I was offered when I travelled and the type of hospitality I hope my children will receive during theirs .... Cheers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had many people -- friends, family, friends of family, and simply visitors, as well as a young lady from Hong Kong who contacted through a similar site ... Stay4Free ... She actually stayed for quite substantially longer (until she found work and accommodation elsewhere) but this was discussed prior to her arriving ... Wonderful lass, and still in contact. Is currently in Brisbane.

兴趣

Many and varied, however most of my interests lately were focussed around what my teenage children wanted to do ... Off-road buggy racing, jet-skiing, swimming, hiking, biking etc ... They are very active and have always kept me on my toes.

Sleeping under the stars in the Simpson Desert, Australia. Amazing night sky ... simply breathtaking.
Swimming in the ocean (freezing, yet stimulating) in Oban in Scotland.

I have been on this planet for over 50 years ... I believe I have a lot to share ... I have loved helping, educating, nurturing and keeping my children active ... they are aged 17 and 18 now. .... So come and sit and chat a while and enjoy what our region has to offer ... We have the Great Barrier Reef on our doorstep ... wonderful beaches to explore, bushland and wildlife, lakes and mountains (little ones I know) but they look wonderful ... So come visit for a while.
