ABOUT ME
I have been a teacher for almost 30 years, first in America and now in China. I also taught a year in Pretoria, South Africa. I am divorced, currently unattached, and have two children, a son and a daughter, and two stepsons from my ex-wife's first marriage. I like to take photos and meet people.

PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live. Enjoy life, because you only go around once. Grab those opportunities when they come by. Tell people you love them (if you do). Spread joy.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Just about any kind except horror; science fiction, action, drama, comedy, world cinema. If you've got a favorite movie, tell me about it.
Music: I favor jazz, but really I will listen to any kind of music, from classical to rock.
Books: Science fiction, history, fiction, the classics, politics, science -- I have a lot of interests. I studied Don Quijote in college.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have taken flying lessons (6 hours in the cockpit so far -- long ago). I've tried scuba diving (one lesson, want to try again). I saw real African animals in Kruger National Park. I left a comfy job in the USA to come teach English in China, and have not regretted the decision for even one second.
Teach, Learn, Share
I taught high school physics for a long time. I'm good with computers and most things mechanical. I managed my high school's websites and computer systems for 8 years. I can bake bread, and I can cook OK. Now I'm learning how to cook Chinese food.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have traveled around China many times, so I can offer advice and tips. Also, I have students from all over the country, and they can be helpful resources, too.
