About Me

Sorry, I do not have a mission. But I am having a second sabbatical. The first time was for 2 years in Latin America around 2004.
Just taking it easy for a year while enjoying the views and absorbing a bit of culture.
I am quiet, not a partygoer or pubcrawler. Sorry, I do not like beer, but a glass of wine works fine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling through South America by car since June 2017. Mainly sleeping at budget hostels and sometimes in the car. Hostels are a great place to meet other eople and do the local tourist things together. But they aren't locals, so they know the same sbout a place as I do, just what the guidebook says and nothing about the of the beaten track. I hope that I can meet new people while couchsurfing just as easy as in hostels.

Music, Movies, and Books

The radio is normally tuned in 70's/80's music. Just about about anything from Abba to ZZ Top.
The caracter build up in the Breakfast Club makes it one of my favorites.
In general sci fi and fantasy.
Books, don't take the time anymore to sit back and enjoy them. The last must have been during my two year trip.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Define amazing.

For some back home it is that I left my job twice just to travel, solo. Others just didn't understand that.

Or would it be some of my travel experience. Like:
- Swimming with seals in the Galapagos and having a young seal swim up to me, turn upside down, put it's mouth over my outstretched hand and gently retracting it.
- Driving the Colombian trampoline road of death, twice.
- Cycling the Bolivian road of death.
- Rafting cat 5 without rafting experience after being accepted in spite over being over the age limit, because I looked fit.
- Diving deaper than the permitted padi 40m during the padi advanced course at the same time as going through a double tube at that depth.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I suppose that could be sharing travel stories. But they often need a trigger to be recalled.
