About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Teacher-journalist with a misson
ABOUT ME
I'm the BFG, the big friendly giant.
2.06 m tall and one big piece of adrenaline. I live in the Amazing city of Ghent in Belgium. One day, I hope to become a teacher/journalist in South-
America or somewhere on the African continent. At this moment I'm working as a teacher and as a freelance journalist. My goal is to educate people who really need it and to give a voice to them who want to be, but aren't heard.
Of course I'm looking for some likewisethinking souls with whom I'll be able to share some thoughts. I love to cook and eat as well. My dad infected me with the cooking virus :)
I've signed up in 2009, but never made use of these wonderful benefits CS offers and now... I regret it. So from now on I hope it does not only stay with dreaming...
PHILOSOPHY
You already have a 'no', a 'yes' can be obtained so go for it.
I always reach for the highest possible even if it makes me bang my head against the wall. If I fail, i just start all over.
"Once you're gone, you can't come back" Neil Young
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to host and travel and open my eyes as well open the eyes of the people i meet :)
I'm a very enthusiastic person and with this positive energy I bring along a luggage of stories, dreams and some eagerness to listen to all of you who cross my path. When I happen to stop by at your place, I will be happy to cook a meal for you. When you happen to stop at my place, I will be happy to cook a meal for you as well.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't have a lot of hosting and surfing experience, yet. But I am well on my way!
Surfed:
5-6-7 May 2012: Fleur Britten's Couch (author of 'on the couch') in London with Andreas Heyerick
24-25 May 2012: Paco Escrig in Valencia with Andreas Heyerick and Jakob-Jan Van Winckel (pure awesomeness!)
26-27 May 2012: Priscilla in Valencia With Andreas Heyerick and Jakob-Jan Van Winckel (Amazing experience!)
Hosted:
Not yet but very willing to!
Activity experience=
First person I met by CS was Dominik Frisch, amazing evening! Next to that I organized an activity of 'singalong and Belgian beer drinking' which was fun :-)
Next to that we organized a belgian bar & beer night at my place on which exactly 1 person showed up. Anyway it still was fun! :-D
Bertrand Goethals, one of my friends and an experienced couchsurfer takes me for a walk from time to time to meet one of his visiting CS'ers.

Music, Movies, and Books
'l Auberge Español, into the wild, some comedies, different sorts of movies depending on how I feel.
concerning music I'm quite eclectic. I listen to a lot of different genres and during the weekends I sometimes perform as a DJ (just for fun).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being able to walk after 2 years in a wheel chair can be defined as pretty awesome, I think. Reaching the top of the Mont Ventoux by bike a couple of months after learning to walk again was also a great experience.
Performing as a dj in front of more than 2000 people and seeing the reflection of the light in all those watches gives me goosebumps everytime I think about it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can learn people to be positive, to play music, teach them English, show them around in Ghent, share my vision upon life, make them feel welcome, make plans together with them, dream along,...
