About Me
Howdy! I am Pepe Mazcorro, I spent almost 20 years as a scientist in the field of Microbial Ecology. Nowadays I am a businessman, an English teacher, and a philanthropist that simply believe in the potential of human beings. I am involved in small little things (literally, like the cricket farm) and I constantly invite others to get involved in whatever feeds their souls.
If you want you can read about me in my personal website: https://sites.google.com/site/josefgarciamazcorro/home and follow us in social media (https://www.instagram.com/rincon_de_farolillo/).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In August 2018, I visited Leipzig, Germany, for a Symposium on Microbial Ecology, and I found couchsurfing while looking for a place to stay.

I like most types of music and movies but I also love silence. I like several books like Politics (Aristotle), On Liberty (John Stuart Mill), The Origin of Species by Means of Natural selection (Darwin), The Flickering Mind (Todd Oppenheimer), and of course anything related to microbes such as Follow Your Gut: The Enormous Impact of Tiny Microbes (Rob Knight)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have done several incredible things (at least for me) in the mountains surrounding Monterrey Mexico.
Teach, Learn, Share
This list of Ecoturism companies in the Monterrey area may be useful for you, nature lover: https://sites.google.com/site/josefgarciamazcorro/ecotourism
I have some reccomendations of my own just in case.
What I Can Share with Hosts
For only 100 pesos the night (not mandatory but highly appreciated), a nice place to stay in a quiet private neighborhood in the city of General Escobedo NL Mexico: https://sites.google.com/view/proyecto-opertum/actividades/farolillo. The fee is small but its impact on the maintenance of the property is huge. GRACIAS.
