About Me

Would you please consider helping a retired teacher with Multiple Myeloma cancer fulfill his dreams? Before I was forced into retirement due to my disability, I had over 34 years of experience as a teacher in New York and Florida who had taught Elementary School, High School Earth Science and Astronomy, and English Second Language in China. I like traveling to meet people of different backgrounds and experiences. I often do Astronomical research with my telescope and drive to a mountain called Cherry Springs State Park in PA where there are dark skies to observe. I play guitar and sing. The challenge I face is having to deal with chronic fatigue due to my cancer, and so I must limit my driving distance to about 300 miles or so a day with many stops in between so I can take power naps. Couchsurfing gives me the potential and motivation to travel, without breaking the bank by staying at many motels along the way, if people are willing to make the generous offer of a couch for me to sleep on. Due to my weakened immune system, I can only accept hosts who offer me a smoke-free environment. Thank you for your consideration.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Staying at motels when I travel is expensive for me on a limited income and disability because I must limit my travel distance to 300 miles or so due to chronic fatigue caused by Multiple Myeloma cancer. I also prefer to meet friendly people so I can learn about the region and the culture where I am staying.
