About Me

CURRENT MISSION

keep growing as a person. culture, people and places

ABOUT ME

hardest question ever...someone who keeps its word, reliable, some who makes the most of his time but still enjoys quality time with friend, I like to think that open-minded, and very curious, love meeting new and different people, used to be a planning freak, still like to plan but I leave room for accommodation. Prefer a pleasant morning jog to a full moon party. A culture vulture and history buff. Need travelling to me going. Need to keep growing and broadening my horizons, experiences. Good company, I would say.

PHILOSOPHY

Art, people and places. Seeking and appreciating the beauty of things, plunge into cultures through their music, arts, customs and ways of life. Love tasting new foods. Always feeling forced to move out of the comfort zone, I guess, part of my nomad deep nature. cant stay in a place or do same things for long.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing and hosting. Will take part in CS gatherings more

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have been surfing mostly, enjoyed it, met mostly good people during my travels. Great to get to know local people and other fellow travellers. Recently hosting and giving back to the community. Will continue travelling, goes without saying!

Interests

Travelling (yeah, ok, I know, goes without saying :) ) off the beaten track and urban wandering; travelling solo, backpacking in a shoe string most of the time :)
Love to be in good company
A culture vulture at heart. Reading, Theatre, Shakespeare tragedies, experimental, poetry, Music from all ages and places, Graphic novels (just cant name one in detriment of another), European comic, Anime and manga, Electronic music, trance, black, death, thrash, power metal, Fado, punk/ska, instrumental, renaissance, ancient, basque rock/punk/ska, folk music too.
Just love Opera, one of my passions. I became an aficionado because of my late grandfather but I experienced a strong personal renaissance in opera some years back. Dont ask for favourites though, that'll be hard :)...Dances, Ballet, romantic and classic aficionado of graphic arts, sculpture, paintings, photography ; Cinema, independent cinema-art films, 1920s-1930s silent movies, European, original version titles, Korean (I was a victim of the Korean wave a few years back, but there is good stuff also, no doubt; Iranian, Aamir khan, Taiwanese, Kurosawa, Bosnian, Senegalese, Glauber Rocha,..., if anyone has a title in mind do share, much appreciated.
The Teaching Company and Lynda.com I have no words to thank their work. Period.

Sports, sort of a running junky, long distance running, marathon, competing cyclist for a long time, just love/need hiking and trekking, outdoors activities, havent gone camping in a long while though, now that I think of it. The beach, bodysurfing :) What else¦history, current affairs.
I am discovering wine, my new sort of obsession now :)
Always appreciating a great chat.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Everyday life. Been and seen some interesting things thoughout my life, just like everybody else out there. It comes to mind though, enjoying Alban Berg's Opera Lulu at the Teatro Amazonas in Manaus, Brazil in a Amazon hot&humid April's night. Chilling after a sunset swim in the Mekong River in Si Phan Dong, Laos. Biking Angkor complex in the early hours of the morning. Ice-skating with own skates on an outdoors ice hockey rink in Songsvann, Oslo, enjoying the night with friends when being surprised by the Northern Lights...bare-body surfing in a rainy cloudy Winter's day with the guys at my beach side hometown of Sopelana...entering barefoot in the first of the Ajanta caves in Central India, Datong city in North China, 24hs in Kuala Lumpur great summation after living in countries with cultures represented in that city. Enjoying a popular drama in Osaka, visiting Xian's Great Mosque a Summer's night. Rejoining with old local friends in distant countries. Visiting the Southwestern frontier lands of Bolivia, Potosi. Quai Branly Museum. A big etc. At times we forget all great moments.
