I love to travel, but not only to see new places, but to meet new people. This love led me to a career in the diplomatic service. Quiet and thoughtful, I enjoy exploring new places on foot. I speak Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German and French

I enjoy reading and the performing arts. I like bike riding and have rowed crew competitively.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love mysteries, especially British mysteries (books and on the screen). Jane Austen, and I have read all of her works, some twice. War and Peace also read it twice. I am an avid moviegoer. I worked in a cinema in college and it was an arts house. Old classics are amazing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving in a thick fog near Spa, Belgium, i suddenly came out of the fog into a cloudless bright sunlit orchard with the trees covered with ice that made them look like Murano chandeliers on both sides of the road. Still gives me a chill!
