Overview
About Me
I'm a mystery navigator, artist, lover, healer, father, student, learning compassion with each passing wave. Honesty and self care are very important to me.
I currently live in Minneapolis, MN. I moved back here, after 7 years on my farm in Costa Rica, to give my sons a step up in their education. My youngest has some developmental delays that needed more attention then life on the farm was going to offer. So now I'm metro living. In Costa Rica, we've hosted hundreds of people from dozens of countries, most of which lived closely with us, sharing meals, chores, responsibilities, and personal space. I play well with others. Now that I'm back in the states, I've been further developing my skills as a bodywork practitioner and balloon artist.
If you're curious about the farm, it's called Finca Fruición: Permaculture Land Cooperative.

My Philosophy:
If it can be done, I can do it!
My Maturing Wisdom:
Make sure that it's really the best thing to be doing with your time.
Forgive my short list of references. I kind of forgot about this website, after I originally built my profile. I have a FB profile that I would be happy to share with you, if you would like. I've hosted so many people over the years, most of which just offered a little work-trade in exchange for full room and board. I've earned my couch karma. I promise.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've decided to go to San Diego for the World Balloon Convention, to catch up with where the industry has gone in my years away. It was a last minute decision, as the money magically appeared to do it, but I don't have enough to afford a hotel for a week, on top of it. I'm hoping to make a friend.
I'll be at the convention for most of the time, especially the 14th-17th. I mostly need a place to land, stash my gear, and catch a little rest. I will be coming early to help volunteer with the decor builds for the event, but that won't consume all of my time, those first few days. I'll also have some time, the Sunday after the event, to hang out and offer some bodywork to my host.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing?
I walked out into the desert, at age 23, with everything I owned in my backpack, and no reason to look in any direction but forward.
Spent six years living out of that backpack, traveling the americas, hitchhiking tens of thousands of miles, in hundreds of cars, seeing a rather broad spectrum of what the americas have to offer.
Planted roots in a 21 acre farm, at the age of 33, in the hills of Costa Rica, to co-create a permaculture education center and intentional community.
Hosted more than 300 people from over 25 different countries.
Caught my son in a water tub, when he was born on our deck, at the farm.
Daily embrace the depth of reality that I'm still just getting started!

What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be happy to offer Thai Yoga Bodywork Sessions, in exchange for a place to rest. I'm also pretty handy in the kitchen.
