About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a recent graduate in computer science. I do research in machine learning. I love music and dance.

Interests

I have a passion for dance: lindy hop, blues, tango, locking... anything with soul. I love live music and festivals. I enjoy discussing social justice and political economy. I always want to learn something new.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now I am obsessed with funk and soul. You could call me a funkateer. I have seen Bootsy Collins (3x), Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings (3x), Lettuce, Soulive, Orgone (3x), Dumpstaphunk, The Main Squeeze (3x), Charles Bradley, The Pimps of Joytime, Galactic, The New Mastersounds. I also enjoy blues, tango, hip hop, and all music with a strong groove.

My favorite non-fiction book is Who Rules America by G. William Domhoff. As for fiction, I am enjoying the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Also, I highly highly recommend the TV series The Wire TV series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I saw Iguazu Falls it absolutely took my breath away. I just stood there in awe. Pictures can not capture the experience.

Bonnaroo 2011 music festival was amazing. The Pretty Lights show and the Bootsy Collins show were magical events. I've never seen a crowd so ecstatic as when Bootsy walked into the crowd. Also I stumbled upon a band which is now one of my favorites, Walk the Moon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will be happy to teach you some swing dancing (lindy hop, east coast, blues). I know very basic locking and capoeira and would be happy to share.

I am learning Spanish and Serbian. I would be glad for any opportunity to practice either. I always enjoy learning, so you can share some of your language with me, whatever it is.
