Overview
About Me
Hello travellers, world explorers and adventurers,
I'm Julia from Germany, 23 years old and a big fan of laughing, joy and happiness, of travelling, of seeing the world and of meeting the people on the way! :)
I'm a 'normal' German girl. I grew up on a farm in a small little village with 400 people in East Germany, called Alleringersleben. With my two siblings and my parents we always enjoyed our summer and winter holidays travelling to see Europe. We took our little van, and off we went to go on fanastic camping adventures. My parents always showed us the pleasure of seeing the world, experiencing different cultures and getting to know the people in different places.
When I was 17 years old, I decided to do an exchange year in Australia where the Need-to-Travel feeling came to my emotions. This feeling pops up now and then. :)
My year abroad was just amazing. Yes, I definitely found a second home on the other side of the world and I love it :D
After school I started my apprenticeship to become a paramedic. It was exactly my profession, the job I love doing. I enjoy looking after my patients and being a helping hand in difficult situations, so I decided to study medicine.
I can say that I love to be busy with a lots of different things, like sports in every imaginable way, I enjoy music, singing, playing, listening and dancing. I like spending time with my family and friends making music, going on bike tours, going out, being at concerts, at festivals and and and.
Outdoor activities can always be part of my daily schedule.
I love being busy especially when I get to spend my time with great people!
Now that was a little bit about ME,
now I can't wait to meet you, to have long, interesting, exchanging conversations.
I'm excited to get to know you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a wonderful way to meet locals in different places of the world, to exchange cultures and to make friends. It is a great experience to have a personal contact and a place to stay while travelling.
And I have to say I like couches a lot and I'm sure I'll love your couch as much as you like my couch. :D
Interests
Probably one of my biggest interests is travelling. It can be a nice city weekend with sight seeing and pub crawl or an adventurous backpacking tour along the coast or through the countryside, or a great skiing winter holiday, I'm enjoying all of these experiences.
Then there is the sport, I'm a sports lover, it can be soccer, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, running, skiing just anything. I'm might not be good at it but I enjoy being active and especially team sports are so much fun.
And music: Yes, music makes me smiles and dance. I enjoy dancing to music, singing and I used to play the guitar, hopefully one day I'll also be able to play the violin (big dream) :D

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I enjoy a lot of different types of music. It really is a mixed music taste I have, I like bands like Mumford&Sons and Crowded House. I listen to Ed Sheeran, James Bay and The Fray and all of the popular songs on the radio. Also classical music is something I enjoy listening to.
Movies: uiuiui, beause I never really watched/watch TV I can't say which movies I like and I have to admit that I don't know so many movies but I'm looking forward to watch the best movie of my life time.
Books: As a medicine student I have to read a lot of medical books and magazines and it is what I enjoy reading.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At work in my little ambulance I was doing the job of a midwife, which was an amazing experience.
A woman gave birth to a little girl and I could be the support she needed. :)
Teach, Learn, Share
A smile doesn't cost anything but it gives a lot.
It makes one richer who gets it
without taking from one who gives it.
It only lasts for a moment
but the memory stays forever.
Nobody is so rich to live without it.
And nobody is so poor that a smile can not make him richer.
