I raise and show Morgan horses, work in the veterinary emergency room and teach veterinary medicine in Nepal. I have lived around the world, including Sweden, West Africa, Southern Africa and Nepal.

Our little house is a 1920 Dutch Colonial on a tree-lined residential street in a safe, middle class neighborhood, just 3 blocks from the train station to downtown Chicago, by which you can also reach O'Hare. Its cool and shady in the summer and we have happy hour on the porch in pretty weather. Oh - and 2 loving, smoochy dogs who will want to get to know you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

LOVE meeting new folks and helping them get the most out of visiting. Also i appreciate budget travel and prefer someone's couch to crashing in what turns out to be a Thai house of "ill repute" despite being listed as a tourist hostel in Lonely Planet (ask me about THAT story!) and I'm guessing that you do too!

Love ALL global sounds! Soft spot for Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and the Gypsy Kings. Have watched the Princess Bride and LadyHawke maybe 200 times each but also love the Terminator series and of course the superhero series!

I have HBO, Netflix and an assortment of other streaming entertainment services if you just need a little downtime!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekked to Anna Purna base camp. Does vaccinated 1000 dogs for rabies in a single day count?? I hold the record for most dog spays in a day too! (29). Jumped from airplanes, tent-camped in African safari parks, scuba-dived (dove?) with sharks in Mexico.
