Overview
About Me
Hi! :) I'm Julie, I am a social worker living in the beautiful city of Montreal, Canada. I moved to Quebec from my home island, La Réunion about 7 years ago to discover what the world had to offer me. Since then, I met my beautiful partner, Deborah.
I am a pretty joyful and easy going person with a creative mind. My girlfriend is more the sporty type with a passion for technology and food. Even though we have a distinctive personality, our complicity goes beyond our differences. Together, we Iove to discover new things and go to different places.
We're planning a road trip to South Asia for next year and we would love to meet friendly people on the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As mentioned above, we're planning a pretty intense trip to South Asia. We still haven't decided the details of our destination, but meeting open-minded and funny people who know the region would be a blast.
Interests
I've been passionate about discovering new cultures at a very early age. Growing up on the Reunion Island, a French territory between Madagascar and Mauritius, allowed me to meet people of various origins which totally opened my mind to the world. Since then I collect travel guides and I keep marking up my next destination :)
I am also a very creative person, I love to let this side of my colorful personality express itself by making new stuff with old things: sewing, making furniture etc.
Another hobby of mine is music! I've been in a band for a couple of years singing music from Reunion Island.

I have a passion for travel books!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 12, my parents took me to the only volcano still in activity in Réunion Island, Le Piton de la Fournaise. The extraordinary thing about this special day was the fact that the volcano was erupting. I was literally a foot away from the lava and I could hear it whistle.
It was an incredible experience to live, moreover because nowadays, the site is closed to visitors when there is an eruption.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you French, English and even Creole (from Réunion Island)
Also, I can show you how to sew, and build something from your own hands without spending much on materials.
Deborah can teach you how to budget your finance.
She also can show you a trick or two at soccer (football)
We would love to learn new recipes and local languages of course.
