Overview
About Me
Curious and open to exploring the many things this world has to offer.
I move, a lot. I like to wander and am always out to find the hidden nooks in this world. I’m also capable of sitting in the sun, wasting away the day with a drink and good company or an interesting book :)
I love the normally subtle power of nature. It’s humbling. Raw. A peaceful constant. I’m sincerely torn between the mountains and the beach. If I HAD to choose I would go with mountains (with the hope of rivers and lakes along the way). Hiking just does something for the soul that nothing else in this world can.
If there’s more than a 5% chance for a spot to hang a hammock, I will pack it.
I hope to someday commit to a kindle but for now I just can’t get past the need to feel the real thing.
I think the human body is mind blowing and will forever be intrigued by its intricacies.
I have a semi unjustified fear of not having water with me at all times. I will buy you dinner if you ever find me without it.
Debating the concept of expectations and I think they do more damage than good.
I have a weird thing about lighting and how it controls the vibe of a place or situation.
I’m American but my work brings me to Europe from September to May each year, and that’s been glorious for my whole being.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because this concept is beautiful.
Often feel inspired or encouraged after hearing the stories and different ways people choose to live their lives.
It’s a reminder that if you put in a little effort, it’s possible to find common ground with anyone you meet.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Hooked on piano right now. R&B. Acoustic. Jazz. Really just depends the mood.
Books: I like things applicable to real life, hence my draw toward non-fiction. Return to Rhythm. Map of Consciousness. A Whole New Earth. Anything by Malcolm Gladwell. Open. Sapiens. Unbroken. Boys in the Boat. Deep. Shoe dog.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swam with and researched whale sharks off the coast of Bahía de Los Angeles. Kayaked out first afternoon and found ourselves surrounded by six. Took a boat out the next day and ended up in the middle of hundreds of dolphins. Also snorkeled with some sea lions.
5 day trek through the Himalayas. Survived the Manali-Leh highway.
Slept in the treehouse of a squater, Nicholas, on Balos Beach in Crete, Greece. That man's giggle and view on life will revive any soul. Learned how to eat snails picked fresh from the mountain that morning. Sang to us in the row boat as they put out the fish nets during sunset (and the catch was our lunch the next day).
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a guitar but am currently incapable of playing, so anyone who can is more than welcome to serenade away.
I probably won’t cook for you. Not because I don’t care about your happiness, but because I do. The kitchen is not my thing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A smile. A roof. Shared stories. — As a host I can be present or leave you be. Everyone is different so just give me a subtle (or blunt) hint. We’ll see how intuitive I am :)
